Prof Heinimann delivers keynote at 4TU
FRS Programme Director Prof Hans Heinimann delivered a keynote speech at the launch of 4TU's Resilience Engineering Centre on 7 June.
On 7 June, Prof Hans Heinimann marked the launch of the 4TU's new external page4TU-Resilience Engineering Centre with a keynote speech, alongside Dutch Delta Programme Commissioner Wim Kuijken and TU Delft Professor Tatiana Filatova.
Prof Heinimann showed in his address how today’s world is in urgent need of centres of expertise like the new Dutch Centre Resilience Engineering. "We are experiencing regime shifts that cannot be predicted with historic data. The concept of resilience provides us with a framework and a strategy to prepare ourselves for such shifts."
4TU is a joint commitment by the four universities of technology in the Netherlands (TU Delft, Eindhoven University of Technology, University of Twente and University of Wageningen) to strengthening and pooling technical knowledge and creativity in the technology sector.
