Prof. Jimmy Chih-Hsien PENG

Principal Investigator of Data Network Resilience in Cyber-Physical Systems

Dr Jimmy Peng is principal investigator of Data Network Resilience in Cyber-Physical Systems research module at Future Resilient Systems and assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore.

Previously, he was appointed as a visiting scientist with the Research Laboratory of Electronics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts and he subsequently served as visiting assistant professor at MIT. His research includes power system resilience, microgrid stability as well as cyber and disinformation attacks on critical infrastructure such as electric grids and transportation networks.

Outside research, he is heavily involved in industry standards related to power systems, renewable energy, and electric vehicle. Since 2020, he has been nominated to serve on the Electrical and Electronics Standards Committee of the Singapore Standards Council—a body that approves the establishment, review, and withdrawal of Singapore Standards and Technical References.

He was a former member of the IEC New Zealand National Committee under the Standards New Zealand—a business unit within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, New Zealand. He was nominated by the Standards New Zealand to join the IEC Young Professionals Program in 2011.
